Beacon is running
On Friday the 16th October the WSPR (Whisper) Beacon V53ARC startet to transmit. With local assistance of Wolfgang, V51WG and Karl
Heinz, V51KH we installed the beacon and the antenna on Wolfgang's property. Clemens, OE1CSC and me have been come to Windhoek/Namibia on Friday morning where we got a cordial greeting from Wolfgang and Karl
Heinz. In the afternoon we installed the G8JNJ Antenna and the
WSPR Beacon, which we brought from Austria and provided there for the first tests. On my website www.oe1ifm.at you can find pictures showing the installation of the beacon on Wolfgang's terrace - near the city repeater in the flower pot.
The beacon is working ufb. It transmitts on 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 12, 10, and 6m with 1 watt. Meanwhile it has been received all over the world like for instance VK, KH8, J, ZS and in many different countries.
During next time the beacon ought to be installed on the final place outside Windhoek. As soon as the preparations are compleated.
We are glad to be able to serve actual information about propagation in Southern Africa to the worldwide Amateur Radio Community via WSPR.
